Shadowtravel New York at Baby’s All Right
Last week the SHADOWTRAVEL tour landed at Baby’s All Right in Williamsburg, Brooklyn to start off the weekend with a night of incredible music. The venue- only a few blocks away from the iconic Peter Luger Steak House- treated our photographers Ugly Machine and Pixel to beautiful light and sound, and we have the resulting photos to share with you. This show was particularly noteworthy for many reasons, especially Stagediver‘s first New York performance since Blip11. The Milwaukee native’s performance was an impressive cacophony of sound and texture that reminded us of why we missed him so much in the first place. The lineup also featured a visit from L.A. local D/A/D whose bright, energetic 80′s inspired jams brought a happy crowd to the dancefloor. Chiptune’s shirtless hentai hero Starpause delivered his signature enthusiasm and an incredible audio-visual experience by the way of anime girls, vintage movie clips, and PuppySpazz’s pet turtle. Hometown hero Nullsleep used his modular synth to perform a beautiful set with more subdued variations on his signature sound that left us wishing his set had been twice as long. We hope there will be a recording of these new works soon, or at the very least more performances to keep our ears sated in the mean time. In between sets, Knife City kept the crowd entertained with a great DJ set that had many dancing as they enjoyed drinks and socialized between performances.
