Algoorithm’s Crowded Market (from Robotropilis)
I was introduced to Algoorithm’s music through a friend. After listening to the tracks, several tracks stand out to me. Some appeal to my experience with Asian pop, others to my experience gaming on some old-school console. There are certain tracks that capture my attention because of the beat.
One track that stands out to me from the rest is “Crowded Market.” This track appeals to my Asian heritage and experience. As the track was played, I felt like I was walking into a crowded Chinese grocery store during Lunar New Year or mid-autumn festival. I could imagine the old ladies screaming at the running kids and the families everywhere hurrying to get groceries for dinner.
The 4th track, “Sapphire Island”, has a very catchy tune. It felt like I was playing an adventure game like Super Mario Brothers. The 7th track has the potential to be a good background music track for a ninja game, like Shinobi or Ninja Gaiden. The 8th track is catchy especially after 30 seconds. I felt like I was playing an RPG game where the protagonist was entering the Pokemart or the item shops from SquareSoft.
